Your First Visit to Theroux Orthodontics
Welcome! You can expect the initial appointment in our office to last approximately one hour. This exam is complimentary.
When you arrive at our office, you will be greeted by one of our friendly staff. After completing a health history, we will take a series of eight digital photographs of your face and teeth. We may also possibly take an x-ray that day. Dr. Theroux will use these photographs to later demonstrate on the computer monitor what orthodontic problems you may have. While Dr. Theroux does the clinical examination, a staff member will enter all his findings into the computer so you will be able to have written confirmation of Dr. Theroux’s recommendations at the time you leave the office. You will also take home a copy of the photographs to show anyone else in the family who may be interested. We will also send a copy of Dr. Theroux's recommendations to your dentist.
Once Dr. Theroux completes the exam, he will use the digital images to demonstrate your orthodontic situation. One of three determinations will be reached:
- No treatment is necessary at this time or in the future.
- No treatment is necessary now but may be in the future. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled.
- Treatment is necessary in the near future. In this case, an appointment will be made for diagnostic orthodontic records—X-rays and models to accompany the photographs already taken. In most cases, you will leave the initial exam appointment with the estimated treatment time and the treatment fee as well as options for payment.
