



Kevin L. Theroux, D.D.S., M.S.
Board Certified Orthodontist
Dr. Theroux graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with highest distinction. He also completed his specialty residency in orthodontics and obtained a Master of Science degree from the University of Minnesota Graduate School. He is a Board Certified Orthodontist.
Dr. Theroux is respected in his field. He has been selected by the Colorado State Board of Dental Examiners as an orthodontic case reviewer/consultant to the board.
For five years, Dr. Theroux researched efficiency in orthodontic tooth movement, biochemical mediation of orthodontic tooth movement, pain control in orthodontics and the effect of non-prescription pain drugs on the rate of orthodontic tooth movement. The results of this research have been presented at both national and international orthodontic conferences. Dr. Theroux has lectured on the local, state and national level on orthodontics. Dr. Theroux purchased the practice from Dr. Robert Bushey in 1997. The practice has been in operation for over 50 years, and many of our patients’ parents were treated here.
Dr. Theroux is the inventor of the Theroux Phase One Essix Retainer. The retainer was featured in the July 2003 issue of the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics. The retainer was also featured in Practical Reviews in Orthodontics. At the American Association of Orthodontists’ 2004 Annual Session in Orlando, Dr. Theroux presented the use of the Theroux Phase One Essix to orthodontists from around the world.
In 2009, Dr. Theroux founded Smile for a Lifetime of Greater Denver as a way to give back to the community and invest in the future of underserved children.
It is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Through this organization, Dr. Theroux provides orthodontic treatment to 8-10 local children each year on a completely pro bono basis. Recipients are required to perform a 40 hour community service project as part of the program’s Pay it Forward Clause.
Dr. Theroux is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Rocky Mountain Society of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association as well as the Colorado Dental Association. He was also the Rocky Mountain Society of Orthodontists' representative on the National New and Younger Member Advisory Committee to the Board of Trustees of the American Association of Orthodontists.
When not busy with Alex and Nicholas, Dr. Theroux and his wife, Christine, like to play tennis, hike, bike, fly-fish, ski and travel.
